'DWTS' winner Robert Irwin addresses ‘The Bachelor’ rumors and we're over the Moon: 'Watch this...'
Robert Irwin is opening up about his potential participation in 'The Bachelor.' Following his major 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 34 win, the 22-year-old wildlife conservationist has been making headlines for his good looks, fueling rumors that he might join the reality dating show. Adding to the speculation, Irwin recently hinted that 'The Bachelor' could be part of his future plans.
When asked by Entertainment Tonight about the rumors of him joining 'The Bachelor,' Irwin joked, "Dang it! … You know what? Watch this space. Who knows? Who knows? It's a strange world. Anything could happen." Irwin further added that he would consider doing another reality competition show, saying, "Honestly, never say never. Like, I'm in this realm right now where I’m like, 'Never say never."
He added, "I feel like some of the rumors flying around during Dancing With the Stars, like, ‘Robert’s gonna be the next Bachelor,' I’m like, ‘Oh, my goodness.’ Like, I'm a zookeeper. I'm an animal conservationist. That's my thing. My world is very different from most of the things that are reported on about me. My life is a lot more boring than you might think. It's exciting when it comes to animals. I mean, I'm jumping on crocs and I'm catching snakes and I'm rescuing koalas. But when it comes to, like, that side of it, I'm honestly, I'm pretty vanilla, dude."
Irwin also gave fans an update on his love life, saying he keeps it 'pretty private, explaining, "Everything's good. All good. Life's great." He added, "In my life, I have great people to look up to as, like, what it is to be, like, couples goals. You know what I mean? My sister [Bindi Irwin] and her husband [Chandler Powell]. I look at my mom [Terri Irwin] and dad [Steve Irwin], and I'm like, it's great. You know, I have those role models in that arena, I guess, which is cool," as per TV Insider.
Notably, Irwin previously dated Rorie Buckey, niece of the late Heath Ledger, for over a year. More recently, dating rumors arose with 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 32 champion Xochitl Gomez after a judge noted their obvious 'chemistry' during the Relay Dance round, as per People. In addition, when 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 34 first premiered, Irwin's pro partner Witney Carson revealed that fans were flooding her DMs about dating him.
She wrote on Instagram Stories, "Girls, I love you [thank you for the applications through somehow my email] and flooding the DMs. If I could line you all up with Robert, I would because you're all 10/10 perfect cuties." She continued jokingly, "We are currently dancing our lives away so we are unable to respond. Robert for The Bachelor?! Idk, this is too stressful for me to handle lol!"
