The recent end of 'Giant Days' has left a hole in the hearts of many readers. A vibrant, wildly enthusiastic comic series written with a lot of heart and maturity, set in a world caught between over-the-top cartoons and very real problems of everyday life, the Eisner-award winning team of writer John Allison and artist Max Sarin created one of the most lauded comics on the market. Now, they return to the world of 'Giant Days' to tell the story of a teen sleuth who's forced to join law enforcement after she's framed for murder.

Boom! Studios has released a series preview, which establishes the main protagonist, Charlotte Grote, whose less-than-illustrious career as a teenage detective is finally getting the recognition she deserves. Her best friend Claire has nominated her for 'Detective of the Year (16-18)' and the two head to London for the teen detective award ceremony. You can read the official solicit below:

"The Eisner Award winning team of John Allison and Max Sarin return to the world of Giant Days for a new series about everyone’s favorite child detective; Charlotte Grote.
Nineteen year old Charlotte Grote has her whole life ahead of her; headed straight to Oxford and a future as a real detective—until she’s framed for murder! Given the choice between going to jail basically forever or joining the police, Lottie decides to hit the beat, all while trying to find the real murderer. Lottie may have been running rings about the police since her 9th birthday, but she’s never been on this side of the security tape. Could the future of law enforcement be 5’2” with an extremely strong bangs game? Yes. Very yes."

From the preview, it appears that important elements from 'Giant Days' have been carried over - a coming-of-age story exuberant protagonists, strong female friendships, and humor that walks a fine line between cartoon absurdity and relatability. Don't miss the chance to start out on this new series as it begins.

'Wicked Things' #1 is written by John Allison, drawn by Max Sarin, colored by Whitney Cogar and lettered by Jim Campbell. It releases on March 18, wherever comics are sold.
