‘Dirty John’ star Amanda Peet was the next one to take the hot seat in the latest, January 3, episode of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ after Rebel Wilson’s exit. While the previous celebrity contestant quit the game after winning $250,000, which she would be donating to a school in Tanzania, Peet delivered an impressive performance during the rest of the episode.

She was accompanied by her smart friend DB Vise, who she described as a “sort of brother” and “surrogate husband”. However, she didn’t quite need his help or the other lifelines, as she effortlessly went on to answer all the questions asked by the host Jimmy Kimmel.

She powered through the early questions, even though the host himself seemed unfamiliar with them. However, she did take a tad bit longer to answer the question for $8,000, which read, “Not to be outdone by Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil, Ohio also has a weather-predicting groundhog with which of these fitting names?” The options included “Dairyland Donald”, “Buckeye Chuck”, “Hosster Howie” and “Bluegrass Gus”.

After cross-checking with her friend, Peet goes with the second option ‘Buckeye Chuck' and yet again gets the right answer. And, for $16,000, she was asked, “In 2020, when an 8-yar-old named Corona was getting bullied because of his name, Tom Hanks sent him a vintage Corona, a classic brand of what?” The options read, “Typewriter”, “Record Player”, “Telephone” and “Camera”. The actress was quick to name option A and it turned out to be right.

Peet had to stop after the $32,000 question about the inspiration behind the website FiveThirtyEight.com, which was popular during the election season. She guesses the right answer, “Number of electors in the Electoral College” after a little thinking and wins $32,000, but the episode concludes with it.

On watching Peet ace one question after another, fans have expressed on social media that she could be the celebrity contestant to take home $1M. While many are eagerly waiting to witness the next episode to watch Peet’s display of general knowledge, many have established that she’ll win a million-dollar for her charity ‘Big Sunday’ to help the homeless.

One tweeted, "Amanda Peet has $32,000 she knows this game pretty well" And another added, "Amanda Peet should win a million. #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire."
