LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After the dramatic introduction of Echo in the 2021 release of 'Hawkeye', Marvel is bringing Maya Lopez aka Echo's first-ever mini-series. It will trace her past in Oklahoma while she reconnects with her Native American roots to become stronger.

Marvel's 'Echo' will premiere on Hulu and Disney+ simultaneously on Tuesday, January 9.

Director Sydney Freeland hinted at the cameos of several MCU characters from other films and shows during an interview with TV Insider. He also added that people unfamiliar with the MCU don't need to do homework and can still watch 'Echo'.

However, while the details of the cameos of popular MCU characters have not been unveiled, we know for sure that two important Marvel characters will be joining 'Echo'.

Actor Charlie Cox, best known for portraying Matt Murdock/Daredevil in several projects of MCU including the TV series 'Daredevil', will make an appearance in 'Echo'.

Wilson Fisk/Kingpin

Actor Vincent D'Onofrio plays the crime lord. He is Maya Lopez's adoptive uncle and was responsible for her father's death.

However, The Kingpin is a supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics. He also makes an appearance in 'Daredevil' and 'Hawkeye'.

In the 2021 series 'Hawkeye', it was established that Maya Lopez has ties to the Avengers through Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). So, let's wait and see what surprise the makers have for the fans!

Alaqua Cox, who landed a breakthrough role as Maya Lopez/ Echo (a deaf superhuman) in the 2021 Marvel series 'Hawkeye', is playing the protagonist in the upcoming spin-off series titled 'Echo'.

Darnell Besaw portrays a young Maya Lopez.

Henry

American actor Chaske Spencer joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he is set to play the pivotal character of Henry in the upcoming series 'Echo'. Henry is Maya's uncle who owns the local roller-skating rink and has past ties with Fisk’s criminal underworld.

Chula

Canadian actress Rose Marie "Tantoo" Cardinal also joins the cast as Chula, Maya’s estranged grandmother.

Bonnie

Devery Jacobs plays Bonnie (Lopez's cousin). He is a strong-willed person and a child of deaf adults.

William Lopez

Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez is Maya's late father and a former commander of the Tracksuit Mafia.

Will 'Echo' take place after 'Hawkeye'?

'Echo' is a spin-off series of Marvel's 2021 hit 'Hawkeye'. The upcoming series takes place immediately after 'Hawkeye' as Maya Lopez leaves New York and visits her hometown in Oklahoma.

The journey traces her past while she embraces the sense of family and community. While at her home, Echo reconnects with her Native American roots.
