A demonstrator has claimed that a Denver cop had sexually assaulted him with a baton during his arrest, alleging that he was still bleeding weeks later.

Michael Jacobs, 23, released footage of him getting arrested on July 29 and shared that he is planning on taking action against the Denver Police Department for "savagely" beating him. While speaking to KMGH, Jacobs said that he had been rattling a fence while at Lincoln Park in order to get an officer's attention before he was arrested.

Jacobs claimed: "I was grabbed from behind, it felt like it was from my neck, no warning, no 'you're under arrest." The video footage shows many officers were seen holding Jacobs on the ground as bystanders can be heard shouting at the cops to stop hitting the man. In the chaos, Jacobs is also heard shouting, "He tried to sodomize me!" The student activist alleged that he was left "traumatized" by the incident and has lingering health problems such as panic attacks and bleeding from his backside, weeks after the incident took place.

He told KMGH, "As I was on the ground and as I was completely helpless, someone took what felt like a nightstick and shoved it up my butt. It was the most traumatizing thing I've ever experienced in all 23 years of my life." He added how he has had to visit GI doctors and is dealing with bleeding hemorrhoids. "‘I’ve been having to go to GI doctors since and have them explain to me why I have hemorrhoids bleeding out of my, you know, rectum."

"I mean, the people that are there to protect you, to do something so wrong, it's like, I have panic attacks now, which I've never experienced before," he said. Jacobs had taken to Facebook to share a lengthy post about the harrowing incident.

His post read, "These officers must face the law. I still don't even know the names of my assaulters. They remain anonymous, STILL ON DUTY. How long until they sexually assault another victim, or even murder someone. How long until another “hashtag”."

"After spending the night in the hospital concussed and handcuffed to my gurney, I was finally thrown in jail. The worst of my charges: disarming an officer??? and violently resisting arrest?!? All absolutely untrue. I did not do it, and there is a video that shows all of this. My deepest gratitude goes out to the unnamed protestor who reached out with the video. I am not a violent man. Peace is my first language, anyone who knows me can tell you that," Jacobs further added in the post.

Many social media users took to commenting on his post and extended their support. One user wrote, "Michael thank you for being so brave and vulnerable to share this. I am so sorry. I believe you. Remember to be kind to yourself in this time, it’s okay to feel your feelings. Don’t bottle them up. This is not acceptable in any way or excusable. My heart goes out to you."

Another added, "I am so sorry this happened to you. You have my respect for sharing so openly. You also have my support as you work through the legal and mental processes. Love and peace to you forevermore." Yet another continued, "#Denver needs to know this #denverpolice CANNOT get away with this. I am here for you. I will fight with you. I am here whenever and in whatever way you need me. I'm so sorry that this is apart of your story. But you are so strong and inspiration."

The Denver Police Department released a statement saying that Jacobs had been part of a group of people who were trying to push down a gate and even resisted arrest. An internal investigation is currently underway after the claims made by Jacobs, KDVR reports. As per medical records obtained by the Problem Solvers, doctors who evaluated him two weeks after the incident found "rectal and anal hemorrhage."
