She is a young mother who found out about her pregnancy just 15 minutes before giving birth to her sweet daughter, Madi. She was rushed to the emergency room in 2021 thinking she had appendicitis after she experienced severe abdominal pain.
Kyla's mother thought the stomach pain was period cramps but she informed her mother that she had just finished her menstrual cycle. She reflected on her social media videos that she tried to cure her pain with Advil and using a heating pad but she was 'in so much pain' that she "couldn’t even walk straight".
Kyla's mother then saw "something familiar" on the monitor, which appeared to be "little feet" during the ultrasound. The doctors soon discovered that Kyla was in labor. Just 15 minutes later, she gave birth to her daughter, Maddie. Kayla shared in a video, "Maddie was a completely healthy baby and had no medical problems whatsoever."
She added, "Within those 15 minutes, my life changed forever and now I can say for the better." She jokingly added that her daughter "also pulled the biggest prank she ever will in her life." Maddie will turn 3 on July 11, 2024. Kayla Simpson surprisingly lost 30 pounds during her pregnancy.
She shared in the video, "Throughout my so-called pregnancy, I had lost 30 pounds, was the flattest I have ever been and had my period every month."
Kayla Simpson's daughter was the result of a 'one night stand'
Kayla Simpson is all set to appear in Lifetime's new show, 'I Wasn't Expecting A Baby', after she gave birth to her daughter without any prior indication. A teaser of the Lifetime show suggested Kayla was a college student when she got pregnant. She went to a frat party "on a typical Thursday" in February 2021 while sporting a crop top and leggings.
She shared in the trailer, "At the end of the night I ended up having a one-night stand." Meanwhile, in a TikTok video, Kayla revealed that she experienced a cryptic pregnancy or a pregnancy devoid of any signs or symptoms.
During her pregnancy, she bled every month, like a menstrual cycle, and experienced no signs of a pregnancy, Kayla revealed. Kayla also shared that she felt fortunate she didn't suffer from postpartum depression and that her family was supportive.
Kayla Simpson claims her daughter changed her life
In a teaser of Lifetime's latest unscripted series 'I Wasn't Expecting A Baby', Kayla Simpson reflected on how the arrival of her daughter, Maddie, changed her life. She shared, "Maddie changed my life in an instant." She elaborated, "I went from liquor bottles to baby bottles. From going out, to staying in. College sophomore to a new mom."
Kayla and her ex-partner are co-parenting Maddie. She revealed, "Even though Maddie's father and I are not together, we are co-parenting and he's definitely involved in her life." She added, "Life works in mysterious ways, and how Maddie's arrived was the way it was intended."
Kayla's mother praised her daughter in the trailer. She shared, "Kayla, as a mom, is very loving and caring, and she became the best little mom." Kayla's mother also recalled the moment when they told about Maddie to her father. She shared, "Kayla was extremely nervous about calling the dad."
She added, "We sat right here in the living room on speakerphone." She added, "I have never seen my daughter shake the way she was shaking. He was just shocked. There was a lot of silence on both parts."
New episodes of 'I Wasn't Expecting A Baby' Season 1 will air every Thursday at 10.30 pm ET on Lifetime after premiering on February 8, 2024.
