ABBOTSFORD, CANADA: A Canadian pedophile prisoner who brutally raped a three-month-old infant as a teenager has sparked fear among fellow inmates after allegedly being moved to a mother-and-baby ward after transitioning to a woman in prison. Adam Laboucan holds an underage violent career criminal history and has been incarcerated since the age of 15.
After receiving gender-transitioning surgery, Laboucan was allowed to move to a women's ward at the Fraser Valley Institution, where detained mothers are allowed to live with their children up to seven years old. However numerous inmates allege Laboucan has made them very uncomfortable by lurking around children and the mothers while passing sexist and inappropriate comments about them. Sources claim Laboucan could often be seen "staring" at children in the ward, according to Daily Mail.

Who is Adam Laboucan?
Adam Laboucan was only 17 years old when he became the youngest convicted criminally violent sex offender in 1999. He was 15 when he brutally raped a three-month-old baby he was babysitting. The infant endured severe injuries in the attack he required reconstructive surgery. Laboucan was allegedly considered so violent that he received a rare prison sentence with indefinite length.
During his trial he made another shocking revelation claiming he drowned another three-year-old boy when he was just 11. However, Laboucan was supposedly only 12 years old when he committed that crime and so the law did not charge him for the alleged murder. Furthermore, Laboucan began identifying himself as a woman named "Tara Desousa" in 2010, and by 2018 "she" claimed to have received gender-transitioning surgery.
'Extremely violent child sex offender'
Despite having a disturbing past and a known history of violent behavior, Laboucan was imprisoned in the mother-and-child ward. Heather Mason, an advocate for incarcerated women, spoke at length to the Canada's Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security. She said that one of the women who was in the mother-child program had testified about how "Tara Desousa (aka Adam Laboucan) would loiter near her and her child, making sexist and inappropriate antagonizing comments."
Another inmate claimed when she brought her infant son along for a volunteer event in the prison, she was allegedly warned by a prison guard about Laboucan. "I was told that there was an extremely violent child sex offender present who hadn't been in the presence of a young child in a very long time," the mother said, noting her son was close to the same age as Laboucan's rape victim. "Once I was informed of the sick and brutal nature of the crime against the child, I regretted even going or letting that person set eyes on my child," she said.
