'White Dragon': Streets of Hong Kong play pivotal role as Amazon set to release gritty ITV thriller

Also known as 'White Dragon' this gripping tale tells a common story from many angles making it worth all your time.
UPDATED FEB 7, 2019

Amazon Prime is bringing to the American audience one of 2018's most edgiest mystery thrillers, 'Strangers' (a.k.a 'White Dragon'). Starring John Simm as Jonah Mulray, Anthony Chau-Sang Wong as David Chen, Katie Leung as Lau Chen, Emilia Fox as Sally Porter, and Dervla Kirwan as Megan Harris, the show is set to follow sheltered London professor Jonah Mulray as he tries to unravel the mystery behind his wife's sudden death. After learning his wife, Megan was killed in a car accident on the mountain roads of Tai Po, he travels to Hong Kong and makes a shocking discovery.

As much as the cast of the show promises an enthralling story-telling with their brilliant acting, it is actually the very premise of the story that has made it one of the most anticipated series of the year. There are several factors which have worked for it. First of all, the show deals with the case of a missing person who is deemed to have been murdered. Any show that follows this particular premise tends to pull in a massive audience. Consider the 2009 docu-series, 'Disappeared'. Presented by Christopher Walker, the series contained re-enactments and interviews with law enforcement officers, investigators, and relatives connected with cases in which individuals have gone missing.
