LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix’s most recent addition to its South African library of movies and tv shows is ‘Fatal Seduction'. The series is set to be just as seductive and thrilling as its title, and comes with an incredibly talented cast. ‘Fatal Seduction’ will feature Kgomotso Christopher, Thapelo Mokoena, Prince Grootboom, Nat Ramabulana, Ngele Ramulondi, and Lunathi Mampofu amongst others.

The title might give away some of the plot - yes, it's about a love affair gone wrong. While the trope is all too common, this Netflix series is anything but. In fact, ‘Fatal Seduction’ has been adapted from another Netflix series.

‘Oscuro deseo’/ ‘Dark Desire’

If you are a fan of Mexican thrillers, chances are you have already watched ‘Dark Desire’, which is currently streaming on Netflix. After its premiere in 2020, the thriller has so far aired 33 episodes, and is the definition of binge-worthy content. It is centered around lies, adultery, and death, all of which will also be found in ‘Fatal Seduction'. There will be quite a few similarities between the South African and the Mexican series, so if you want to go into the former blindly, ‘Dark Desire’ can be saved for later.

According to reports, the first season of ‘Dark Desire’ became the most-watched non-English title at the time of its release. The series amassed 35 million views in just four weeks. Most of the credit goes to the creators and cast, but the twists and turns that lined the series also played a huge part, and a lot of that will be mirrored in ‘Fatal Seduction'.

What to expect from ‘Fatal Seduction’?

Nandi Mahlati, the main character of ‘Fatal Seduction’, goes for a weekend getaway with her best friend, Brenda. However, the time off changes the entire course of Nandi’s life. She definitely wants more from life, and finds those answers in a young man with whom she has an instant connection, mostly physical. This extramarital affair spirals into something Nandi could have never imagined, as she is forced to face consequences and reevaluate her whole life and the people in it. After a dead best friend and a marriage on the brink of its end, what will Nandi do? And who will she trust?
