Famous stars from the 90s and where they are now

The 90s feel like a completely different time and what life and people were back then is certainly not what they are like now. These are some stars who were peaking during the 90s and most of us have wondered where they are today.

Hanson

The American brothers Zac, Isaac, and Taylor Hanson became extremely popular in the year 1997 with their hit single, MMMBop. The boys were only teenagers when their song became famous and the drummer of their band, Zac, was literally only 12-years-old at the time. There debut album, Middle of Nowhere, earned three Grammy nominations.

All the brothers are married now and even have kids of their own. The Hanson band is still going on and they are ready to release their upcoming album this June. They have also recently been featured on Walmart's annual 'Walmart LIVE' Cyber Monday broadcast.

Melissa Joan Hart

In the 90s, Melissa Joan Hart became extremely popular after the release of her show, Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She is also known for her roles in sitcoms such as Clarissa Explains It All and Melissa & Joey. In the year 2010, she participated as the presenter in the International Emmy Awards.

The 37-year-old actress is now a mother of three and also currently stars in Melissa and Joey. She has been known to have a number of business ventures and investments. In the year 2016, she also starred as the lead role in the film, God's Not Dead 2. She even appears in many reality  TV shows. 

Vanilla Ice

The American rapper was actually known as Robert Van Winkle but decided that his stage name should be Vanilla Ice. His hit single, Ice Ice Baby went on to become the number 1 single in the United States as well as in the UK. Vanilla Ice is also famous for dating pop legend, Madonna.

Vanilla Ice has continued pursuing his music and has even had roles in films and TV. He is currently in the process of recording a new album. In the year 2016, he competed in a season of 'Dancing with the stars' but he and his partner, Witney Carson, were eliminated soon after. 

Lauryn Hill

During 90s, Lauryn Hill had immense success with her band The Fugees and then eventually went on to be a successful solo artist. Her solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, won many awards and ended up breaking several sale records.

Lauryn Hill is continuing her musical journey and in the year 2016, she even hosted and headlined the Diaspora Calling festival at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn. Lauryn also received a lot of backlash for being over two hours late for her show in Atlanta, though members of her team claim it was only an hour. 

The Corrs

The Irish and very popular band received a lot of success and fame in the 90s when they released albums such as Forgiven, Not Forgotten. The Corrs made headlines with songs such as Dreams and Breathless. The band became famous for their ability to combine pop rock with Irish themes.

According to an interview released by Jim to Music Radar, the band has already completed the recording for their seventh studio album titled, Jupiter Calling. The Corrs have also been doing some charity work and were awarded for their efforts in the year 2005. 

Toni Braxton

Braxton has won numerous awards and was extremely successful in the 90s with songs such as Unbreak My Heart. She began performing with her sisters in a family band known as The Braxtons. The group attracted the likes of producers such as Antonio La Reid and Kenneth Edmonds.

Toni Braxton released an album, Pulse in the year 2010 and will also release her 8th studio record. The Singer has been on Dancing with the stars and is also a spokesperson for Autism Speaks and The American Heart Association. 

Shola Ama

The famous British R&B singer from London, Shola Ama was famous back in the 90s when she decided to cover a Turley Richard's song, You Might Need Somebody, which ended up touching number 4 in the UK singles chart. Her cover remained in the Top 40s chart for at least two months.

Shola Ama is currently part of the music collective A-List. In the year 2010, she was one of the judges on the TV show, Pineapple Dance Studios. In the year 2016, she was featured on the album, System Killer, by Frisco. In the year 2015, Shola Ama released an album with 8 tracks featuring new reggae-inspired tracks. 

Jamiroquai

British Acid Jazz band, Jamiroquai, was formed in the year 1992 by singer and songwriter Jay Kay. The band had a series of hits with songs such as Space Cowboy and Cosmic Girl. The band also had a total of at least 16 members and the best-known lineup was Kay, co-songwriter Toby Smith, Stuart Zender, Derrick McKenzie and Wallis Buchanan.

The group is still going strong and continues to perform. Recently in January, the band ended up releasing an online short trailer video known as Automaton. Kay seriously injured himself in the spine, sometime in May which led to them canceling several of their tour dates.
