'When I was the Most Beautiful' Episode 14 Promo: Will Carrie Jung’s stabbing delay Ye-ji's plan to leave Jin?

The 'When I was the Most Beautiful' Episode 14 promo makes us wonder if news of Carrie Jung being stabbed will have an effect on Jin (Ha Seok-jin) and Ye-ji's (Lim Soo-hyang) relationship. At the end of episode 13, we saw how Jin received a call from one of his former acquaintances from the time that he used to race about Gi-seok, one of his drivers back then stabbing Carrie Jung. Jin had already found it weird that Gi-seok would want any kind of action taken against her. After all, the only thing she did was hide the fact that she knew Jin was alive. However, that might not be all.

In fact, when Gi-seok met Carrie, he told her that Jin and Hwan (Ji Soo) had seen her and Carrie tells him to stay hidden until she can send him away. She also tells him that he should be thankful to her for not making him a murderer as she had, after all, saved Jin. At this time, she is told that she was the one who got him to "do it in the first place". However, he doesn't expand on what she wanted him to do.

This could be anything between sabotaging Jin's race to targeting him intentionally. So all this while, Gi-seok had been swimming in guilt, believing that he had killed Jin but Carrie had lied to him. Could this be the reason why she was stabbed? If it is, could this also be the reason why Jin could think about having false hopes regarding his relationship with Ye-ji?

Just before Jin had received the call, Ye-ji had informed him that she would like to leave him and it would be very helpful to her if he also let her go instead of continuing to cling on to her. She had taken this decision after thinking hard and long and realizing that despite everything that she had gone through with Jin's family after he had gone missing, no one had considered her a part of it. Yes, Hwan and Jin's father has a soft corner for his daughter-in-law but in the face of any decision taken by his wife, he is helpless. This is exactly what happened when Jin's mother told Carrie about Ye-ji having signed a prenuptial that directed her that she would have to leave Jin anytime his mother felt that he did not deserve to be a part of the family.

To save their company Jinhwan, Jin's mother tells her to leave and Hwan overhears this entire conversation. The only who truly thought in Ye-ji's best interest from the beginning was Hwan and he continues to do the same. Even now, he encourages Ye-ji to leave these selfish and awful people behind and not return in the promo. He is not asking her to go away with him, but to just go away. Will the two of them end up remaining friends who respect each other? That is the only way this show can redeem itself. Were it to introduce anything romantic at this point, it is going to be uncomfortable.

'When I was Most Beautiful' will air on MBC on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9.30 pm KST. It will be available on Viu outside South Korea.
