Lovers of mush and romance, you're in for a little treat. Nothing spells romance better than the one blooming on a cattle farm. Gear up for Hallmark's upcoming drama 'When Hope Calls', a series about two sisters that promises to be sweet, warm and fuzzy. 

Release date

'When Hope Calls' will premiere on February 23, Hallmark channel at 9pm.

Plot details

The official synopsis of the show reads as "When Hope Calls centers around sisters Lillian (Morgan Kohan) and Grace (Jocelyn Hudon) who open an orphanage in the 1916 Western town of Brookfield. As the two are caught between the traditions of cattle ranchers and the ambitions of a growing town, they strive to find romance and happiness while overcoming the challenges of helping the children in their care. Throughout their journey, they discover community, acceptance, and love as they create the family they always longed to have."

Cast 

Morgan Kohan and Jocelyn Hudon star as the two sisters Lillian and Grace. Kohan has starred in 'Ransom' (2017) and 'Star Trek: Discovery' (2019), prior to this show.

Hudon is an actress and director, known for 'The Strain' (2014), 'The Order' (2019) and 'Pixels'.

The cast also includes R.J. Hatanaka as Gabriel, the Brookfield Mountie who falls in love with Lillian, and Greg Hovanessian as Chuck, the ranch hand trying to woo Grace.

Hatanaka has acted in 'Nurses',  'Joseph Pulitzer: Voice of the People', 'Simple Wedding' (Mainstay Ent.) and 'Chicago PD' (NBC).

Hovanessian has worked in various series like 'Covert Affairs', 'Reign', 'Slasher',  'Mayday', and 'Private Eyes'.  In 2016, Hovanessian landed the lead role in 'eHero', coming of age film, starring opposite Sean Astin (Lord Of The Rings, Goonies and Stranger Things).

Wendy Crewson plays the role of Tess Stewart. Crewson has starred in 'Away From Her', 'The Vow' with Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, the Winnie Mandela biopic 'Winnie' alongside Jennifer Hudson and Terrance Howard, 'The Santa Clause trilogy' opposite Tim Allen, 'The Clearing' with Robert Redford, Eduardo Ponti’s Between Strangers with Sophia Loren, 'The Last Brickmaker' in America with Sidney Poitier, 'Bicentennial Man' with Robin Williams.

Director

The show has been helmed by Alfonso H. Moreno, who is known for his work 'NCIS', 'The Guardian' and 'The Glades'.
