'Grey's Anatomy' Season 22 lines up fan-favorite returns and everything else we know
Following the jaw-dropping midseason finale of 'Grey's Anatomy,' Season 22, fans are left wondering when it will return. Created by Shonda Rhimes, the midseason finale episode titled 'Strip That Down' featured Kate Walsh's return as Addison Shepherd. To add to that, Jen Landon is also set to return as Dr. Tonight Wright, making the wait harder than expected.
After the Thursday, January 29, episode of 'Grey's Anatomy,' new episodes will resume on February 26, at 10/9c on ABC, as per TV Insider. Notably, 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 22 is set to introduce two new characters in Episode 11. Landon, known for her role on 'Yellowstone,' will recur in four consecutive episodes as Dr Wright, a new plastic surgery attending at Grey Sloan Memorial.
Dr. Wright is highly accomplished and innovative, which can be intimidating to those meeting her for the first time. In the operating room, she is precise, meticulous, and confident, but outside of work, she's a charmingly disorganized personality with a magnetic zest for life, always saying yes more than no and quickly forming warm connections with patients and students alike, as per Deadline. Landon may appear in more than the four episodes she initially planned, sources say.
Additionally, Sara Paxton will appear in a two-episode arc as Leticia, the relative of a patient, adding further depth to the season's storylines. Both characters are set to make their first appearances in Episode 2211, promising fresh energy and drama for the second half of the season. Additionally, plastic surgery has long been a focus at Grey Sloan, with past stars like Mark Sloan and Jackson Avery. This season, the specialty returns to prominence with new recurring surgeon Kavita (Anita Kalathara) and Kwan (Harry Shum Jr), who is also exploring the field while becoming involved with Kavita.
Paxton's character Leticia, along with her brother Corban (Connor Price), will appear in Episodes 2011 and 2012. Corban is hospitalized, leaving Leticia discouraged. 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 22 is set to run for 18 episodes, as per USA Today. The series went on a midseason hiatus after Episode 6, which left Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) in critical condition following a risky surgery. She survived the operation and is recovering well, as shown in the spring premiere and subsequent episodes.
