LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The much anticipated genre-bending film 'They Cloned Tyrone' will be out soon on Netflix. The film's trailer introduced us to not only an amazing cast but also an interesting plot for the film that Netflix has slotted under the science fiction comedy genre.

'They Cloned Tyrone' is a directorial debut by Juel Taylor and stars the widely loved actor Jamie Foxx alongside John Boyega. It is produced by both Taylor and Foxx in collaboration with the company MACRO Media.

What is the plot of 'They Cloned Tyrone'?

'They Cloned Tyrone' follows a trio in an unexpected investigation into a government conspiracy that is affecting the way their town is experiencing their daily lives. The setting of the film is fantastical and involves elements of science fiction and comedic satire to bring together a story that pans over multiple genres. Netflix briefly describes the film as, "A series of eerie events thrusts an unlikely trio onto the trail of a nefarious government conspiracy in this pulpy mystery caper."

The trio consists of a drug dealer named Fontaine (John Boyega), a pimp called Slick Charles (Jamie Foxx), and his main sex worker Yo-Yo (Teyonah Parris). They plunge into this mystery when a rival named Isaac fatally shoots Fontaine but the latter ends up living to tell the tale. They then go on to discover a laboratory fully functioning right under their whole town and what ensues then is a series of killings while the trio finds out how things were much more complicated than they seemed. The film is a take on racial issues as the town only consists of a black population. It is said to be paying homage to the sub-genre of Blaxploitation films from the '70s as the three decide to rebel against the experimentation and save their town.
