Right at the onset of New York City's "major reopening" on May 19, as most Covid-19-related regulations and restrictions get lifted, an elite group sex party will set off the entertainment with an airtight exclusive clientele.

The group identifies itself as SNCTM (pronounced 'sanctum') and is about to host a super-VIP sex fest for a hand-selected 80 guests. Set in a luxurious three-storeyed penthouse in Downtown, Manhattan, the soiree's invite describes the event as “a nonpareil experience within a fabled erotic theatre and an opportunity to explore their personal desires without judgment". It adds, "We are a society of like-minded libertines with the highest standards of taste and style. We embrace unrestrained indulgence with one rule — the golden rule at Snctm is consent.”

How much does the party cost?

SNCTM’s manager, who goes by just “Robert”, told The Daily Beast that this May 15 event will see the club's “big return” after a pandemic-induced hiatus that's extended for months. “We had two events scheduled last year in March and April that we had to cancel when the shutdown occurred,” he said. “After the shutdown, we were really on hiatus for most of 2020. When things started to ease, we regrouped and went back to work. We’ve been working pretty steadily since September, even though we only held two events — in September and October.”

The two parties from September and October 2020 were also in New York City, but were limited to just 30 guests. Although the club's events are typically 99 people or more, the parties from last year came with an on-site doctor who went around testing staff and guests for Covid-19. As for the coming party, entrance is only allowed if the Covid-19 report is negative or the people are vaccinated prior to entry. The staff will remain masked and so will guests, but they must be the Eyes Wides Shut variety. The dress code is tuxedos for men and dresses with lingerie underneath for women.

"We have some very elaborate performances that we’ve choreographed for this event, and we have some very beautiful models — ‘devotees,’ as we call them — that will set a tone of eroticism for the night,” Robert tells the outlet adding that these performances will be "sexual in nature". The admission fees is between $500 and $8,000, with most opting for couples entry, which is $1,500 for a first-time couple and $2,250 for a returning couple. VIP tables go up to $8,000. Some members even pay $50,000 to participate in SNCTM’s "traveling carnal circus", the outlet revealed, adding they "are allowed in free". But this year's kickstarter event is already sold out, with Robert claiming it was the
"fastest than I can recall".

What is SNCTM?

Founded by entrepreneur Damon Lawner, who's also a friend of Jared Leto, SNCTM grew from small get-together at nightclubs around Los Angeles that used to charge $50 as cover charge. It is now a branded and invite-only event at mansions outside Beverly Hills. After being sold to invested groups in 2019, SNCTM became masked extravaganzas at palatial homes, mostly belonging to members, all over the world including places such as Moscow, Kiev, Mexico, London, New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Famous faces and big names such as Brad Pitt, Michelle Rodriguez and 'Fifty Shades of Grey' producer Dana Brunetti are also reportedly among the attendees.

One can gain entrance into SNCTM after adequate vetting by the staff, although Robert claims they “get more applications than we could possibly allow to come". To become a member, or even enter one of their parties, one must submit an application with questions covering their background, what they do and why they wish to join SNCTM. After passing the initial review, they are interviewed by the staff, in person and through FaceTime during the pandemic. Robert explains: "Aesthetics is the main criteria that we have to measure, because we want people at our parties to be beautiful. We get regular attendance by celebrities. There’s one in particular that I think was there to do research, but they mostly attend to have a good evening.”'

SNCTM's bizarre sex acts

The Daily Beast notes that one of its writers who attended a previous event held by the sex club witnessed a person in a minotaur mask receiving oral sex. As for Robert, when asked what's the strangest thing he has ever seen, he told the outlet, "I remember walking into a room and seeing someone getting their penis electrocuted at a party by a stun gun — not provided by us. That surprised even me.”

A Showtime docuseries called 'Naked SNCTM' has already chronicled the sex club, and another show featuring it is expected to wrap by the end of 2021, Robert said. A big Los Angeles event sometime in June at a still-secret location is also on the cards as “It’s been such a difficult year for so many people,” Robert says. “So people are really excited to come back.”
