Olivia Plath recently took to Instagram to share her thoughts on mental health. The reality star stated that she is a big supporter of therapy and counseling. She revealed that there is still a lot of stigma attached to the idea of mental health and even though we are living in 2019, people still feel hesitant to seek help.

"If you have followed me for any period, you will notice that not only do I follow but also reshare a lot of posts by the therapist and just repost quotes on my story and I am just super passionate about mental health," she said. Olivia added that nowadays people want to be perfect at everything but as humans, it is not possible.

"I think it is time we open the can of warms and accept that it is okay to not have it all together," she said. "It is okay to say that I struggle with suicide and depression and this and that."  Olivia also took the time to highlight how she had been struggling with the same. The reality star confessed that this past year hadn't been a joy ride for her in terms of her mental health.

"This past year was really hard for me," she said, "Honestly, it was a season of depression and I was having suicidal thoughts almost every day for six months." She added that the entire experience left her feeling "isolated and alone".

"Statistically speaking, 48 percent of the Americans suffer from mental health," she revealed. Olivia thought it was high time that people stood up and accepted that mental health is important. She believes that people should not only talk about it but also say something regarding it.

Olivia announced her participation in an NGO named, 'Only7Seconds' and it deals with mental health issues. She revealed that the concept behind the idea was that it took only seven seconds to tell someone that they are being loved or assure someone that everything would be alright.

She ended the post by stating that it is important to normalize the topic and love all people and allow people to know that they matter.
