'Welcome To Plathville': Kim Plath opens up about dealing with the death of 17-month-old son Joshua

Kim and Barry Plath are celebrating their 22nd anniversary and during this time, they remembered their son Joshua who they lost when he was 17-months-old.

Kim and Barry Plath opened up about losing their son, Joshua when he was just 17 months old. The pair were celebrating their 22nd anniversary and decided to head back to the place where they got married. Walking down memory lane the pair recalled some of their best times and their life in general.

However, Kim and Barry became emotional as they thought about their son Joshua. Speaking to the camera, Kim revealed that it was a moment that she found very hard to accept. Kim recalled that the incident took place when they were working in their yard; it was in September 2008 and she was pregnant with her eighth child then. Kim accidentally ran over Joshua while she was transplanting fruit trees. "I had just seen him and I thought it was okay and I ran over him," she said.  Kim recalled that the incident left her in shock and recalled everyone crying and praying as the ambulance came to check on Joshua.

Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead after the medic arrived at the location. Kim further added that the incident had left her broken as the next six to eight months she was trying to find herself and get over what had happened.

Barry added that the incident affected them immensely. Meanwhile, Kim added that as hard as things were for her they were worse for Barry as he had to take care of her while also dealing with the loss of their son.  She added that she wouldn't have been able to get past the incident if Barry wasn't next to her. Kim further added that losing their son at a young age made them conscious about the relationship that exists within the family. She revealed that she does not want any friction between the family members but unfortunately things were not under her control.

While the pair have now accepted what happened with their son, Kim and Barry confessed that they hope things would get better with Ethan and Olivia in the future.

'Welcome To Plathville' airs on Tuesdays at 10 pm on TLC.
