Sebastian Stan walked and breathed the red carpet at the closing ceremony of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, basking in pride as his film, 'Fjord', took home the festival's ultimate prize, the prestigious Palme d'Or. Stan hit the carpet alongside director Cristian Mungiu and co-star Renate Reinsve to celebrate the historic win for the drama. Marking Stan's first role speaking in his native Romanian language, the film follows a family facing a painful crisis when state authorities take their children away. 'Fjord' had already proved to be a festival darling after receiving a massive 10-minute standing ovation at its world premiere, with critics naming Stan a top contender for Best Actor. While the jury ultimately handed the Best Actor prize to Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne for the wartime drama 'Coward', the Palme d'Or victory crowned 'Fjord' as the definitive triumph of the festival.
