Following the ‘The Boys’ Season 5 finale, creator Eric Kripke has defended the show’s fandom-dividing plotlines and the increasingly direct Trump-Homelander satire. Speaking at the finale premiere in Los Angeles, Kripke said Season 5 was based on “authoritarian creep” themes but ended up turning real, in a direct reference to US President Donald Trump. He also said that the satire of ‘The Boys’ will have “real value” for younger audiences, who will realise the direction of modern politics as "ridiculous" and "silly". The Season 5 finale aired earlier today and wrapped up the show's five-season run over seven years. #TheBoys
