Judge Accepts Keanu Reeves’ Plea For Mercy, Leniently Sentences Carl Rinsch For Netflix Scam

A federal judge sentenced 47 Ronin director Carl Rinsch to 30 months in prison after he was convicted of defrauding Netflix out of nearly $11 million intended for an unfinished sci-fi series. During sentencing, the court considered evidence of Rinsch's mental health struggles, including a character letter from Keanu Reeves, who revealed he had previously tried to get Rinsch help through an intervention. Rinsch was also ordered to repay approximately $11 million, undergo mental health treatment, and report to prison on September 1.
