Billie Eilish almost rejected James Cameron's 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' collab request as a literal scam
James Cameron roped in Billie Eilish as a co-director for 'Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)', but the pop star initially assumed the Avatar director's pitch was a complete scam! Speaking to the Associated Press in London, Eilish revealed the project began with a 'random' email sent to her mother, who was in Cameron's circles for shared environmental activism ties.
The singer also added that she was just eating cereal when her mother casually mentioned Cameron's interest, prompting her to immediately ask if the email address was fake before getting on the phone and realizing it was the real deal. The 3D film adapts the singer's current tour and will be theatrically released by Paramount Pictures on May 8, 2026.
