'Was it Love' Episode 6: Dae-o feels betrayed by Ryu Jin and this could possibly wreck Ae-jeong's project

'Was it Love' Episode 6 promo sees Ae-jeong's (Song Ji-jyo) daughter Ha-nee (Um Chae-young) point at Ryu Jin (Song Jong-ho) and tell everyone present that the star of their country and the idol is her father and this seemingly shocks the crowd but who is the most shocked by this claim is apparently Oh Dae-o (Son Ho-jun) because we see him try to confront Ryu Jin about how much he had trusted him in the past. This is an interesting progression in the plot because Dae-o and Ryu Jin are as close as blood brothers and for Ae-jeong to be the reason why their relationship sours would be what one would always expect of a love triangle.

This is also exactly the reason why we would want the outcome of Dae-o and Ryu Jin's misunderstanding to be different and not cater to the stereotype that is already prevalent in a majority of Korean drama. Whether Ryu Jin is Ha-nee's father or not, the fact that he did sleep with Ae-jeong right after she had broken up with Dae-o will definitely not be something that Dae-o can easily swallow and move past for the sake of their relationship. Ae-jeong can try to smooth things over but this new development can possibly make it harder for Ae-jeong to make her debut film.

Ae-jeong is trying to make her dream of many years to come true with this film, however, it is already riddled with many problems. She was scammed into taking responsibility for a loan of 1.5 billion won for her boss, and the man who lent the money Koo Pa-do turned out to be a loan shark who for some reason seems interested in helping Ae-jeong but not directly. So he agrees to finance her film and let go of the loan if her film makes profit, but he had his own conditions which included casting Ryu Jin and getting author Cheon Eok-man on board.

Now that she has brought everyone from her past together, she has to face the music of disappearing from their lives without explanation and the judgments that would come with the fact that she is now a single mother and it is this that will turn into the biggest obstacle for Ae-jeong in making her dream come true. However, if the promo is not misleading the audience by portraying Ryu Jins nightmare and Dae-o really does learn about what Ryu Jin did in the past, Ae-jeong's dreams may never get realized.

New episodes of 'Was it Love?' will air on JTBC at 9.30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursday and will be available to stream on Netflix.
