'WandaVision' Episode 4 Spoilers: Maria Rambeau founded SWORD, fans say 'F**k Marvel' for killing her offscreen

'WandaVision' shifts its focus from the two main characters — Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) in Episode 4. The Marvel miniseries brings in some of the older characters into the mix and one of them was a key character from 'Captain Marvel'. Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch) makes an appearance from the world beyond in the form of multiple name references and as the founder of SWORD. This made fans go crazy on Twitter. With Maria's daughter Monica (Teyonah Parris) playing a key role in the series, making the elderly Rambeau SWORD's founder was the perfect move.

Not all were happy that Rambeau's character was killed off. It was revealed in the episode that she passed away due to cancer. This saw some flak from fans who hoped there would be a glimpse of the character. "#WandaVison SPOILER Honestly FUCK Marvel for killing Maria Rambeau of off screen like that," one commented. "I HATE IT HERE WHY DID THE KILL THE ONE AND ONLY MARIA RAMBEAU OFFSCREEN IM SOBBING," another fan seconded.

Maria's death and the revelation that she was one of the main people behind SWORD were some of the main talking points. With the focus on Maria, there is also that question of what happened to Nick Fury who is not the director of SHIELD anymore. Perhaps the series will answer that question in due time too.
