The attention around Amber Heard has not faded yet even though it's been more than three weeks since the defamation trial ended. There are reportedly many sensationalist Youtubers who are yet profiting from Heard and her losing against Johnny Depp, who sued her for writing an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018, claiming herself to be a domestic violence survivor.

One such YouTuber is Matthew Lewis, who is popularly known as That Umbrella Guy, who has apparently made thousands of dollars monthly while covering the Heard-Depp trial. His videos are reportedly against the ‘Aquaman’ actress in which he smears her image and makes derogatory comments.

Lewis was first slammed publicly by Christopher Bouzy, CEO of Bot Sentinel, who tweeted: “This is Matthew. Matthew earns approximately $1 million a year producing low-budget YouTube videos about Amber Heard. Imagine earning $80k a month publishing low-budget ramblefuckery. He has a financial incentive to keep the Depp v. Heard drama going as long as possible…”

He then went on to claim that “YouTube made Matthew a millionaire for publishing misogynistic videos that mainly focuses on one woman,” before adding, “And for the record, Amber's PR never hired us. In 2020, Amber's lawyers hired us to look at the social media activity, and even then it was obvious a lot of the activity was inauthentic. We don't publish public reports paid by clients; period…”

But later Newsweek reported That Umbrella Guy actually makes $64,600 monthly through his videos. The 36-year-old actress’ friend Eve Barlow also called out the YouTuber, who reportedly uses dramatic text over his videos that read, like “Busted! Heard admits hoax!” and “Heard attacks the judge!”

She tweeted: “Were you aware that so-called YouTube journos like That Umbrella Guy make THAT much (ie $1m per year) making up bullshit and obsessively posting videos about Amber, her family and friends, including me? Is that an honest living to you?”

Barlow also warned that Marilyn Manson’s former girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood will soon be the target of these smear campaigners. Wood has reportedly been sued by Manson whom she called for alleged sexual assault. Heard’s friend then added: “I have a hate name that was invented by these people. Let me fight my battles. My Instagram posts currently have 20K hate comments underneath them. I get hate messages that wish for me to be bottle-raped. I don't have to explain to people why I care. But I do. It's sad. Don't get me started on people who've decided to participate in the clickbait of it all. You're not *saving* me from anything by telling me to stop caring about this. YOU SHOULD CARE. If it can happen to Amber it can and it will happen to many others. I hope you never know it.”

In the hope of putting an end to such hate for profit, Barlow has also requested social media users to sign a petition. "@YouTube have allowed "internet journalists" to monetize Amber Heard's pain throughout the Depp vs Heard trial. Sign the petition to put an end to hate for profit. #IStandWithAmberHeard," she tweeted.

Meanwhile, That Umbrella Guy has not shied away from gaining Heard’s misfortune as he told Newsweek: “I monetize the salt of Heard simps. These morons are gonna pay for my home before this is done. And maybe buy me a platinum grill.”
