The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which has been taking place for over 23 years, has been officially canceled this year.

The parent brand to the lingerie giant, L Brands, announced that the company will be looking to "evolve the messaging of [the company]" as reported by Fortune. The brand has faced a lot of backlash over the years over its lack of diversity and an outdated idea of what defines beauty. The company is known to cast only thin and slender models for its brand excluding every other body type.

As the news of the show being canceled broke, social media users have taken to various platforms to express their support in the cancelation. One fan shared, "Honestly there is nothing sexier than a woman lounging around in a man’s button-down dress shirt.....who needs victoria secret".

Another added, "Sounds like they would rather destroy their brand than diversify their fashion show".

A third fan chimed in, "Victoria’s Secret did this to their damn self".

Several social media users also took to praising singer Rihanna's lingerie line 'Savage X Fenty' and shared memes of Riri kissing VS goodbye. Rihanna's popular lingerie line made headlines with its fashion show showing a diverse range of models and featuring every body type.

Many people believe that brands like Fenty cater to a much larger group of people who are all various sizes. One fan shared, "We good over here, we have got @SavageXFenty" while another echoed, "good, leaves for room for Fenty".

VS has been at the center of controversy over the last couple of years given their choice to be narrow-minded. It was just last year that VS’ former chief marketing officer, Ed Razek, made very offensive comments to Vogue and said there was "no room" for plus-size models on the runway and that he would not cast any transgender models.

VS has not revealed whether the cancelation of the show is temporary or whether it has been removed for good.
