Vanessa Bryant mourns daughter Gianna, wishes she had could have spent time with her 'until my last breath'
Vanessa Bryant has been fondly remembering her late daughter Gianna Bryant's smile. On Wednesday, February 5, the 37-year-old Vanessa took to Instagram to share a picture of what looks to be a tribute held in honor of Gianna at her middle school.
In the picture that had been taken from the school's gym, a bouquet of heart-shaped balloons can be seen placed next to a table with a red and pink flower arrangement that reads the name 'Gianna'.
The tribute also had a red floral arrangement of the number 2 that Gianna had proudly worn while playing for the Mamba Sports Academy.
Vanessa started her post with "My Gianna, God I miss you. I’ve been so lucky to have woken up to see your gorgeous face and amazing smile for 13 years. Wish it would've been until my last breath."
"Mommy loves you to the moon and back. Infinity plus 1. #2 #Mambacita #GigiBryant," she continued. Gianna and her NBA legend father Kobe Bryant died in a tragic helicopter crash along with seven others — John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, Christina Mauser and pilot Ara Zobayan.
The accident took place on January 26 when the group was on their way to a basketball game. Just hours before Vanessa shared her tribute to her daughter, she took to social media to pay a tribute to her late husband Kobe.
Alongside a picture of Bryant smiling widely, she wrote, "#TheBestdaddy Miss you so much. #handsome #sweet #funny #silly #lovinghusband Miss you saying, 'Bonjourno principessa/reina'." Ever since losing Gianna and Kobe, Vanessa has been doing her best to comprehend and deal with the tragedy.
According to a report by People, a source shared, "The shock hasn't entirely worn off. She's very tired; she hasn't been sleeping. She's worried about her girls, worried about what happens next." Kobe and Vanessa have four children together — Gianna, Natalia, Bianka and Capri.
The source shared that Vanessa has a great support system who are helping her get through her difficult days.
"She's got people around her who are helping her: physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally. She has spent the last week surrounded by people who love her and want only the best for her. She’s really being loved and cared for. And so are the girls," the insider added.
