LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Unfrosted' is streaming on Netflix from May 3, 2024, and it is a hilarious take on two companies in the 1960s fighting to create a new product trying to outdo the other. The companies in question are Kellogg's and Post. Jerry Seinfeld who stars in the film as Bob Cabana, also directs this film.

The film is loosely based on the true story of Pop-Tarts but majorly it is a comically absurd take on capitalism meant to be funny and nothing more than that. 'Unfrosted' is an out-and-out comedy meant to make its viewers laugh and it's been a while since something like this has come out.

The film also stars Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant, Max Greenfield, Christian Slater, Sarah Cooper, Peter Dinklage, Bill Burr and Jim Gaffigan in prominent roles.

Humourous writing and brilliant character sketching make 'Unfrosted' funny

The film has Jerry Seinfeld stamped all over it with his observational comedy skills coming to the fore in his foray as a director. The film involves a lot of exaggeration of intricate nuances done with educated subtlety and absurdism.

The character sketching is impeccable and situations are made to order in this film when comical people are put in comical situations, their reactions create humor.

The film is written and directed beautifully. Comedy is all about an intricate balance of making things funny but also making it look real to make it relatable and funny and Jerry Seinfeld has done it expertly in his first film.

Jerry Seinfeld, Amy Schumer, and Hugh Grant shine in their hilarious roles

The film has some powerhouse performers at the peak of their game. The rivalry between Post headed by Marjorie Post (Amy Schumer) and Kellogg's headed by Edsel Kellogg III (Jim Gaffigan) remains the center point of the film and both actors bring a calculated aura to their characters and yet manage to make it funny.

Jerry Seinfeld carries the film on his back as Bob Cabana and you can see his skills as an artist shine. It is almost like he is in an improv workshop showcasing his skills. He has great command over his craft and knows when to exaggerate and when to be subtle like it is child's play.

Hugh Grant has to be the funniest addition to this film as the man who plays Kellogg's mascot Tony the Tiger. You see him suffering and you laugh at it.

If this film had to be summed up, it is an absolute laugh riot and one that does not shy away from being unabashedly funny. At a time when true crime stories are the flavor for the audiences, this is a good old comedy film that will keep you laughing for the entirety of its length.

The editing of the film and the quick pacing add to the comedy. It does not have a dull moment and the story and antics keep moving forward without a moment to even catch your breath while laughing.
