Did Tyra Banks suffer a wardrobe malfunction on ‘DWTS’? Host recalls moment when she wasn't 'zipped up'
The world of modelling might have witnessed a lot of wardrobe malfunctions, however, Tyra Banks, who has been a supermodel, recently had to face the same, not on the ramp, but on a TV show. According to Entertainment Tonight, the 46-year-old model and actress, who is currently hosting Season 29 of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ faced the embarrassing situation during one of the early episodes of the American reality series.
Tyra, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, spilled the beans to Entertainment Tonight in an exclusive interview about the faux pas and said, “I think it was the third or fourth episode, I walk out and my hand is on my back and I was holding my dress together. It was not zipped up! And I did not have on any of my jewelry.”
According to the site, Tyra wanted to bring an element of fashion and she usually opts for two costume changes in each episode. Continuing her revelation of the wardrobe malfunction, she then jokingly added, “Then, you'll notice, a couple of acts later my hand is down, I'm zipped up and I have on jewelry.”
Tyra is not new to the world of fashion as she started her modelling career at the age of 15. The TV personality also shed light on the guidelines she has set for herself when she is hosting the reality show. Speaking to the same publication, she asserted, “There's certain rules that I have. You have to play to your strengths, so I play to making sure that the waist is snatched because, if it's not, I'm well-endowed naturally and it can look a little bit like a mumu. I have very broad shoulders and sometimes the dress doesn't really cover the shoulder... so it's got to be wide enough up here.”
Further revealing her rules, she said, “Can't have satin on the boobies, on the tummy or on the booty. Satin on my booty, shows cellulite, satin on my boobies on TV makes the size they already are ten times bigger. So there's all these [things to remember], like a checklist.”
