TV sexologist found dead naked in hotel following threats from debt collectors who called her 20 times a day
Russian police are investigating the death of a popular TV sexologist Anna Ambartsumyan, whose naked body was found at a five-star hotel in Moscow. The 26-year-old was found dead with a Prada handbag and black dress on the bed next to her body at the Peter 1 hotel.
As per Daily Mail, detectives are trying to identify a male who had visited her room. It is reported that Anna had many admirers, so much so that she was even gifted two Bentleys and an Aston Martin. According to a celebrity lawyer, Sergey Zhorin, the TV psychologist had also been threatened by debt collectors who would harass her and kept calling her up to 20 times every day.
"I'm scared. They are very aggressive," she had told him. "I recommended her to contact the law enforcement authorities," he added. Before she was found by hotel staff, it is said that she had been dead for an estimated eight hours.
Anna was a qualified doctor and psychologist who also claimed that she was a psychic. She had a following of around 370,000 across social media. She had boasted, "I will raise anyone from their knees." Local reports which have cited law enforcement sources reveal that a post mortem is currently being conducted in order to establish the cause of death. A bunch of non-prescription pills were also found inside her room, which have been sent to a lab for analysis.
Anna was married to a businessman named Ruslan. She was believed to be very well-liked by many high profile people. Last year, another case involving a Russian beauty blogger Ekaterina Semochkina, 24 whose dead body was found stuffed into a suitcase in her apartment had made headlines.
As reported by The Sun, her body was found naked with the exception of a suspender belt. A 33-year-old man, Maxim Gareyev, was held in Moscow over the death. During interrogation, the killer confessed how he left her body naked in a suitcase before fleeing her apartment in the city. He also recounted in graphic detail as to how he repeatedly stabbed the blogger in a rage-filled attack after the two had 'sex'.
According to him, Semochkina repeatedly taunted him for being unable to satisfy her sexually and for not being as wealthy as her other lovers. He said that she had also made him feel small about his looks and personality. He claimed that she was a sex worker besides being a doctor and that he had paid her around $158 per hour for her services. He revealed that he had only met her one time for sex.
While confessing to the Russian Investigative Committee, he said, "First, we talked, then we had sex. Before and during it, she made jokes, saying offensive things because I don't have as much money as her other men. And that I have no personality."
"She told me that I am nothing, that nothing will help me with my looks, no plastic [surgery], nothing….(After we had sex) she carried on making jokes about me," he added. He also asked her for some coffee which he refused and told him he would have to "save money for months to come to her again." "I lost control," Gareyev continued. "I grabbed a knife in the kitchen. She half-turned and I struck her in the neck."
