Trump calls Pelosi 'crazy as a bedbug', says salon owner who shared viral footage 'can do my hair anytime'

President Donald Trump has taken yet another jab at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over her getting a blowout at a San Francisco salon, maskless and flouting city regulations that prevent small business owners from providing indoor services. This time, he said that he might call the salon’s owner, Erica Kious, to trim his signature golden hairdo.

"Crazy Nancy, crazy as a bedbug. She's crazy as a bedbug. She decided to make a nice little stop in at the beauty parlor. How did that work out? Not too good! It didn't work out too well," Trump said at a campaign rally in Wisconsin on Thursday, September 17, night. "Can you imagine the owner of the beauty parlor is a MAGA lady, she loves Trump!" the president added, referencing his 2016 slogan "Make America Great Again".

Trump described Kious as a "great" business owner and "fantastic" for coming to his defense. "She can do my hair anytime! I think I'm gonna call her in, check it out," he quipped. "Maybe you can do something. Maybe you can improve it. It's not bad though. I have friends my age, they're not looking too good." It's worth noting that Trump has sported his trademark hairstyle — which stylists have called a pompadour or pompadover — since at least the 1970s. The hairdo became a household fixture over the years and several political pundits have commented on any rare changes to the unique style.

Last week, Kious announced that she was shutting down her San Francisco salon after the backlash from her community for publishing footage of Pelosi visiting the salon despite city-wide restrictions.

"I am actually done in San Francisco and closing my doors, unfortunately... I started to just get a ton of phone calls, text messages, emails, all my Yelp reviews… saying that they hope I go under and that I fail... So just a lot of negativity towards my business," Kious told Tucker Carlson on his eponymous show. Meanwhile, the small business owner has garnered quite a following on social media and raised more than $300,000 through online fundraising campaigns.

It must be noted that Trump has repeatedly attacked Pelosi over her salon visit, pointing out that she defiantly violated local Covid-19 rules while "constantly lecturing everyone else."

Nonetheless, Twitter was inundated with a flurry of reactions at Trump's sensational offer Kious. "'She can do my hair anytime,' says Pres of the hair salon owner who disclosed @speakerpelosi’s secret visit. 'Crazy Nancy, She’s crazy as a bedbug', said Trump of Pelosi. Said the salon owner 'turned Nancy in. That’s a lot of hate', he said with obvious glee," CBS reporter Mark Knoller tweeted.

"The best quote from the Wisconsin rally tonight. 'She can do my hair anytime.' 'Biden doesn’t even know he is alive.' -President Trump #Trump2020 #TrumpIsAwesome," congressional candidate David Fegan added. Democratic Rep Eric Swalwell chimed in with a rather controversial remark as he responded to a tweet from Breitbart correspondent Charlie Spiering, suggesting the salon owner would be "sexually assaulted" by the president if she accepted his offer.
