President Trump finally donned a face mask while visiting recovering military personnel at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, on Saturday, June 13 - an action that made headlines around the world as well as let loose trolls to create innumerable memes and comparisons on social media.

Some of the popular memes was to compare the POTUS with super villains like Hannibal Lecter and Darth Vader. "I think Trump looks more like Hannibal Lecter than the Lone Ranger..." one wrote, while another said, "Darth Vader thinks he looks good in that covid19-suit. So does Trump... at last." A third commented: "I think he looks like psycho supervillain Bane."

After negating the need for a mask for a long time, stating that he’s being tested regularly, Trump told in an interview with Fox Business on Wednesday, July 1, that he has nothing against wearing a mask. He stated, “Actually, I had a mask on. I sort of liked the way I looked, OK? I thought it was OK. It was a dark, black mask, and I thought it looked OK. Looked like the Lone Ranger. But, no, I have no problem with that. I think — and if people feel good about it, they should do it.”

Although the spike in the deaths due to the novel coronavirus has left the world devastated, Trump and his family seem reluctant to cover their faces with masks while stepping out. Despite being advised by the CDC to cover's one's face, the president has repeatedly shrugged off suggestions of wearing a mask, saying that it causes people to touch their face too much. He also argued a mask would make him look "weak."

During a May visit to a Ford plant in Michigan, where he refused to wear a mask in view of the press, he said that he "didn't want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it."

However, before leaving the White House on Saturday afternoon he told reporters: "I'm going to Walter Reed to see some of our great soldiers who have been injured,' he told Sean Hannity. Badly injured. And also see some of our Covid workers, people who have such a great job. And I expect to be wearing a mask when I go into Walter Reed. You're in a hospital so I think it's a very appropriate thing."

There were other hilarious reactions to the first time he decided to wear a mask. "I must admit I prefer him in the mask," tweeted user Peg Rasmussen. "Less of the evil face I have to see." Stephen King, the bestselling author tweeted: "TRUMP WEARS MASK! Sad this has to be a headline." Ana Navarro-Cardenas, who is a ‘Never Trump’ Republican, tweeted: "This visit to a hospital was staged for no other reason than to allow Trump to wear a mask without looking like he’s given into pressure. This time, he used Walter Reed as a prop instead of a Church and Bible."

“Trump only put on a mask because if he wanted that photo-op, otherwise they wouldn’t allow him to set foot in Walter Reed. Trump is truly a piece of s**t. He’s not worthy to be near Any Veterans! F**k Trump. #PresidentBoneSpurs” tweeted another.
