President Donald Trump took a swipe at former first lady Michelle Obama over her "love" for disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.

The US commander-in-chief was speaking at a press conference in India on Tuesday when he brought up Obama's friendship with the convicted sexual predator, Metro reports. "I was never a fan of Harvey. He was a person I never liked," Trump said. "I don’t know too much about the case…(I’m in) meetings every minute of the day. I was just not a fan of his. I knew him a little bit, not very well."

"The people that liked him were the Democrats. Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton loved him," he fired.

Obama was seen in a recently resurfaced video from 2013 calling Weinstein a "wonderful human being" at a White House function. She even went on to call him "a good friend and just a powerhouse."

Trump was fielding questions from reporters on Tuesday when he called on the Democrats to return donations made to them by the Oscar-winning producer. "He said he was going to work hard to defeat me in the election – how did that go?" the president taunted.

Furthermore, he said that Weinstein's conviction was a "very strong message" to other high-profile sex abusers. “From the standpoint of women, I think it was a great thing. It was a great victory and sends a very strong message," Trump said. "Very, very strong message.”

Weinstein -- once one of the most powerful men in Hollywood -- was convicted of third-degree rape and first-degree sexual act at Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday. The Miramax founder had to be rushed to the hospital following the verdict due to high blood pressure.

While several Hollywood insiders have said Weinstein's exploitation and abuse were an open secret in movie circles, many of his old pals in the industry claim to have been completely oblivious to his abusive behavior. The disgraced movie mogul is currently remanded in custody at New York’s notorious Riker’s Island prison ahead of his sentencing. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
