3 out of every 4 viewers felt Trump's delayed State of the Union address was positive: Opinion poll
President Donald Trump's State of the Union (SOTU) address on Tuesday night received an overwhelming response by viewers, however, most of them did not believe his call for bipartisanship will work, according to opinion polls. The first opinion polls released by CNN Wednesday stated that of the people who watched Trump's address, at least 59 percent of them reported a "very positive" reaction, while 17 percent of them said they felt "somewhat positive." Reports stated that only 23 percent of the viewers had a "negative" response to the address.
However, CNN host David Chalian pointed out Trump's partisans and strong supporters are the ones who tend to turn out to watch the State of the Union address, which results in a skewed audience. The host added the same is true for a president of either party.
