Brad Parscale says Trump's campaign has 'just begun', is leading in terms of enthusiasm despite poor poll ratings

Despite the fact he is running essentially unopposed, voters are turning out in record numbers to voice their support for the president, says Parscale

President Donald Trump’s campaign has tried to put on a brave face even as the former’s poll ratings have continued to slip with just four months to go for the elections. Campaign manager Brad Parscale said in an opinion piece on Thursday, July 2, that the campaign has “just begun” accelerating. The 44-year-old recently faced flak after Trump’s much-hyped campaign event in Tulsa, Oklahoma, failed to attract a sizable crowd. He has still survived in his job though.

In his piece written for The Washington Post, Parscale took on presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. He said: “The campaign has only just begun to define Biden and introduce the American electorate to who he really is: a 47-year career politician whose actions decimated American working families and betrayed black Americans.”

“President Trump experienced record-setting vote totals as the 2020 primary season kicked off. Despite the fact he is running essentially unopposed, voters are turning out in record numbers to voice their support for the president.”

According to the president’s campaign manager, the former is leading his likely rival in terms of enthusiasm which he called “unprecedented”. “The unprecedented enthusiasm behind the president’s reelection efforts stands in stark contrast to the flat, almost nonexistent enthusiasm for Biden,” he wrote.

Parscale is no less embattled with the president himself in these trying times. In April, Trump reportedly screamed at him over the phone for his falling poll numbers and according to some who are familiar with the matter, he even threatened to sue his top campaign aide. Trump later defended Parscale saying he never shouted at him who was there as the head of the digital and social media strategy during the former’s 2016 election victory as well. “Actually, he is doing a great job. I never shouted at him (been with me for years, including the 2016 win), & have no intention to do so,” he tweeted.

After Trump’s unsatisfactory Tulsa turnout, it was reported that senior presidential advisers Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were not impressed with Parscale.

Parscale brags about Trump campaign's record fundraising

Parscale also boasted about the campaign’s funds worth $131 million raised in June from donors at all levels although it was $10 million less than what Biden and the Democratic National Committee raised the same month. “The president's reelection war chest, including a record-setting $131 million raised in June from thousands of donors at all levels, reflects the continued support, enthusiasm and confidence so many Americans have in President Trump and his agenda. The massive amount raised in June eclipses the total raised in any single month of 2016,” Parscale wrote in his WaPo article.

He said the media reports hinting at Trump’s likely defeat are not reliable and mentioned former Republican president George W Bush also faced a similar situation while facing re-election in 2004.

Parscale faced another controversy when The New York Times reported earlier this week that he was caught using campaign funds to promote ads on his personal Facebook page. It said Parscale had the ads for Trump running off of his own page instead of those of Trump, Vice President Mike Pence or the campaign itself.
