PENSACOLA, FLORIDA: A pedophile was sentenced for life on Friday, January 15, after it was found he raped a teen girl whom he connected on Facebook. It was also revealed that Travis Butler had previously impregnated three underage girls, before abusing his recent victim after getting released from jail. The 47-year-old met the fourth girl on the social media platform in 2019. The Sun reported that the sexual abuse of the fourth girl that happened in the summer of 2019 was not known to her parents. While raping the girl, the criminal also apparently intended to bring another pedophile to take part in it. Prosecutor Larry Keefe described Butler as a “sexual predator who has repeatedly victimized underage girls for his own purposes.” “He has inflicted harm on far too many girls, but his trail of devastated young lives will come to an end behind bars,” Keefe added.

The January 15 conviction was the second time Butler was convicted. Earlier, he was convicted for child sex abuse and three minor girls became pregnant. However, it was not clear if the victims continued with their pregnancies and delivered the babies. Reports said that the recent investigation against Butler was launched after tech experts at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children found messages the rapist had been sending to the underage girl. A search warrant was obtained against his various social media accounts and police discovered “troves of evidence” including images of him abusing the minors. Police also found explicit images of his most recent victim whom Butler had compelled her to take of herself and send to him. After the probe, the man was arrested in November 2019, and eventually, he confessed to charges of enticing a minor for sexual activity and producing child pornography.

In another incident that happened in Pennsylvania, a mother was given 35 years of jail after it was found she catfished a teenage boy by using images of her own teenage daughter. She also manipulated the victim to send explicit videos of him and forced him to enter into a suicide pact with her. On January 11, Linda Paolini was sentenced after she pleaded guilty to two counts of manufacturing child pornography and one count of online enticement of a minor.

According to federal prosecutors, the 45-year-old woman used Instagram to entice the 16-year-old boy and exchanged sexually explicit materials with him. She also forced him to produce and send videos of him masturbating to her. “She did this by assuming the persona of a 16-year-old girl, sending the boy provocative images of her own daughter in order to manipulate him into thinking that an attractive, same-aged girl was in love with him,” a statement from the Justice Department said. While First Assistant US Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams noted, “This defendant’s criminal conduct was so heinous and cold-hearted that it almost defies description. She maliciously manipulated a child into making and sending her pornography of himself. But that was not enough for this defendant. She then manipulated the vulnerable child into attempting suicide. As a result of this prosecution and today’s sentencing, she will be behind bars for decades and will no longer pose a danger to other children.”
