Spoilers for 'Trackers' Episode 1 on Cinemax

Who carjacked newly arrived CIA operative Lucas Becker (Ed Stoppard) and what do they want? The episode begins right where the last one ended and leads to a cat-and-mouse chase. As Lucas (Ed Stoppard) runs after his carjackers in pursuit of a bag of stolen cash, he dogs Inkunzi (Sissanda Henna) for answers – and later, Milla’s (Rolanda Marais) research puts her on Lucas' tail.

Head of the PBI, Janina (Sandi Schultz) and Quinn (Thapelo Mokoena) go to see Inkunzi and tells him to crack a deal now that they know about the diamonds. She leaves her business card and tells him to "think about it". Meanwhile, Lemmer (James Gracie) flies in to meet John Ehlichmann (Louis Minaar) in Zimbabwe and expressed his desire to get his hands on the gun that killed Lourens Le Riche (Gerald Steyn). Lemmer asks about the whereabouts of Flea van Jaarsveld (Trix Vivier) and finds out that she is a tough nut to crack as Ehlichmann tells him how she was attacked by baboons with her dog and has scars from their encounter.

Milla Strachan (Rolanda Marais) tracks a few calls of Lucas and also gets wind of the conversations between Inkunzi and Becker. Soon after, she comes across Becker on her way home and agrees to have wine by the bar. After a little chat, he gives her his phone number. That first meeting spins a new tale as Becker invites Milla for a date up to the Table Mountain.

After conferring with Ehrlichman in Zimbabwe, Lemmer (James Gracie) finds himself a few steps behind Inkunzi in a quest to track down the elusive Flea (Trix Vivier), while the PBI attempts to nab Flea – and her blood diamonds – for themselves. Amid ongoing surveillance of Osman (Brendon Daniels) and Daoud’s (Emmanuel Castis) plans – and under pressure to locate the ominous shipment approaching Cape Town’s shores – Janina considers Quinn’s proposal to seek help from the CIA, but will it help?

Inkunzi goes to a club and Lemmer follows him back to his home where he catches him naked in the shower. While he has his gun pointed at him, the tables turn when Inkunzi takes out a gun from under the table and shoots him. As the episode comes to a close, Milla and Becker make out and have sex. In between those steamy scenes, we find Lemmer has killed Inkunzi and fires one last bullet at him.

Directed by 'Bordertown' fame Jyri Kähönen, the series hooks you with the unpredictable plot twists and leaves you with a plethora of questions. By the end, you can't stop wondering where is Flea and what is her motive? Only time will tell whether the mystery of diamonds is ever solved. ‘Trackers’ will air weekly on Friday at 10 pm ET/PT on Cinemax.
