It's 2020. We might as well expect an alien invasion. So, here's a brief synopsis of the Netflix documentary. John Shepherd had a special mission in life: to make contact with aliens. Over the course of 30 years, John transformed his grandparents' home in rural Michigan into an incredible laboratory from which he broadcast experimental music millions of miles into space. 'John Was Trying to Contact Aliens' charts the rise and fall of this one-man SETI project, before opening up into a broader story about the human need for connection.

'Million Dollar Beach House' on Wednesday, August 26

Nothing like some real-estate drama to lift your flagging spirits. The show focuses on agents at Nest Seekers, a brokerage that represents the most extravagant properties on the South Fork. The official synopsis reads, "'Million Dollar Beach House' is a bird’s eye view into the day-to-day life of the Hampton’s youngest and most exclusive group of real estate agents, documenting their private lives and posh coastline listings. With 2,500 realtors working the Hamptons market, earning a listing is fierce competition. Nest Seekers reps to-die-for, multi-million-dollar properties and not without personal drama between agents.
