Spoilers for ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 Episode 1

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 is finally here and the first episode is proof that the season is already better than before. The bar has been set exceptionally high for Season 4, and a lot of it rests on the first episode. It should come as no shocker that the first episode of ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 introduces Domingo ‘Ding’ Chavez (Michael Pena) and let’s just say, that there’s no one out there better suited for this role.

Chavez is an important character in Tom Clancy’s book, so it made sense to finally give him the screen time he deserved, even if they waited until the final season of ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’. Chavez appears in a total of 22 books, and will potentially be a part of the spin-off series based on 'Rainbow Six’ by Tom Clancy. However, for now, our focus remains on Chavez in ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 Episode 1.

Chavez establishes himself in Ryanverse

Chavez’s entry into the Amazon Prime series is almost silent and that already sets the tone for what we can expect from the character. There’s a lot of mystery around the character in the first episode.

Although ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 Episode 1 majorly focuses on Jack Ryan, and the people around him, the switch back to Chavez’s storyline is quick and frequent, also establishing a connection between the two, which might later be explored in the season. All that matters is Chavez is here to stay!

Chavez’s brutality comes to light

In the first few scenes of ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 Episode 1, Chavez is seen holding a mysterious box as he makes his way through the crowd, and we already know the box doesn’t contain chocolates. As Chavez delivers the box, it is revealed that the box contains two human hands, obviously separated from a body, which once again showcases that Chavez isn’t here to just play.

What really stands out in ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 Episode 1 is Chavez's distinct nonchalance and indifference toward most things. It will be interesting to see how closely the directors and writers of the show will mirror Chavez from the books in Chavez from the series. Nevertheless, the character has set the wheels in motion for ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4.
