LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: This is the moment everyone has been waiting for, right? Jack Ryan’s love interest from ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 1 mysteriously disappeared and most sources chalked it up to a creative choice by the director. However, before ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 was released, it was revealed that Abbie Cornish, aka Dr Cathy Mueller, would be returning for the last season, but in what capacity and how, wasn’t too clear.
So if you have been shipping Mueller and Ryan since Season 1, and were thoroughly disappointed after she went missing and wasn’t even mentioned, then ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 Episode 1 will put a smile on your face. Don’t worry, you won’t need tissues for this scene for anyone who theorized that she is dead. She is very much alive…and not so single.
Are Mueller and Ryan back together?
It is almost like no time had passed between ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Seasons 1 and 4. The door opens, and there she is, with wine and food in takeaway boxes. As Mueller and Ryan share a kiss, there’s no doubt that the two are back together, and very official and exclusive. There was no time jump or explanation per se, and the creators have definitely left some of the romance to the viewer’s imagination. In fact, even James Greer was surprised to see them together. Trust us Greer, we’re on the same page as you!
Mueller and Ryan share a bottle of wine as they try and discuss work, but of course, for official reasons, Ryan can’t disclose a lot of information, and also for Mueller’s safety. There’s tenderness, romance, domesticity, and everything that the fans had missed in the last two seasons of ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,’ but how long can this last?
Is Mueller back for good?
Now, this is the million-dollar question that would be playing on everyone’s minds. While Ryan having a love interest sounds like fun and romantic, what’s Mueller’s agenda? One doesn’t simply disappear for two seasons and come back scot-free, do they? Mueller is still focused on her work as a doctor, doing the right thing for the right people, but it still seems a little too easy. ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 4 is officially the last season of the entire series, and while everyone wants Ryan to have a happy ending, aka become President, marry Mueller, and have children, as per the books, it doesn’t seem too likely for John Krasinski’s Ryan. Only time will tell what Mueller has in store for Ryan and Season 4.
