'Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan' season 2 release date announced with impressive high-octane, action-packed trailer
John Krasinski is back as the iconic Jack Ryan in the second installment and Amazon Prime has set November 1 as the premiere date for 'Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan' season 2. In addition, the streaming network also released an official trailer, which is nothing short of being kick-ass.
"What’s the most major threat on the world stage?" Krasinski’s Ryan asks at the beginning of the trailer. "Venezuela is the single greatest resource of oil on the planet, so why is this country in the midst of one of the greatest humanitarian crises in history?" This is already proof enough that the events of season 2 is set in South America. As far the Russia connection goes (He does have a mission to go to Russia by the end of season 1), there is a Russian plot to destabilize Venezuela and then also give the country nuclear weapons.
The trailer also sees him and Jim Greer (Wendell Pierce) track a potential shipment of illegal arms in the Venezuelan jungle. The footage then shows some mind-numbing action that we haven't witnessed in season 1 and unsurprisingly, has Ryan smack in the middle of it. The rest of the footage sees him tackle baddies, do a HALO jump off a plane and do a parkour-style action sequence where we see him leap off buildings. The United States, UK, Russia, and Venezuela are all shown in fleeting glimpses to unravel the Venezuelan President’s nefarious plot and bring stability to a country on the brink of chaos.

In addition to this, we see a leaner, meaner, fitter and more seasoned version of Jack Ryan. Krasinski is no more the well dressed, fully-shaven analyst we saw in the pilot season, rather we see him rocking a dense stubble, henleys, and not to forget, some kevlar armor as he goes from a regular desk-guy to an action hero this season.
'Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan' is co-produced by Amazon Studios, Paramount Television and Skydance Television. Season 2 also stars Wendell Pierce as James Greer, Noomi Rapace, and Michael Kelly in crucial roles.
