A New Hampshire toddler who somehow managed to get out of her house and couldn't find her way back in was found dead early Monday morning in bitter cold weather just a few feet from her front door.
Dispatch received several 911 calls around 7.10 am about an unresponsive child who was not breathing. Upon arrival at the two-story residence in the small town of Newport, officers pronounced the girl dead. According to authorities, two-and-a-half-year-old Sofia Van Schoick had left the house on her own and "was not able to regain entry," the New York Post reports.
