NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ Show beloved weather reporter, Al Roker, recently addressed his absence from the NBC show in a heartfelt Instagram video.

As he shared his thoughts, his followers flooded the comments section with warm welcomes to Memphis, Tennessee, where Roker was stationed for a short assignment.

On Tuesday, Roker posted a video from Memphis while strolling alongside the “mighty Mississippi” River. Fans were thrilled to see Roker staying active and looking after his health while away from home.

Although the 'Today' Show meteorologist didn't reveal the details of his assignment, he hinted to his fans that the “story he was working on coming up soon.”

Al Roker’s fun in Memphis

On Tuesday, Al Roker took to his Instagram and shared several snaps of himself having the best time in Memphis, Tennessee.

The first video captured himself walking down the city while he shares briefly about his assignment and encourage viewers to get those steps in.

He later shared a series of snaps where the first photo captured Roker donning a big smile outside Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken in Memphis.

The other photo featured a delicious plate including three-piece fried chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, and white bread.

The 69-year-old host also posted a video from Memphis airport as he prepared to return to New York City and praised how beautiful the airport looks.

‘Today’ fans from Memphis welcome Al Roker

Al Roker received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from fans who were thrilled to have him in their midst.

As the beloved weather reporter shared his experiences and adventures through Instagram, the Memphis community flooded his comment section with heartfelt messages, extending their southern hospitality to him.

One fan wrote, “Welcome to Memphis Al. Stay cool!!” and another advised him, “Be sure to see the ducks parade in the Peabody! (And I would add Graceland exhibition hall across from the mansion, but I’m sure there’s no time).”

Other fans hinted at his short assignment adding, “Hello Mr Roker I’ve heard rumors of your arrival to my school!!!” One simply said, “Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ Go Al Go.”

Another fan from Memphis greeted Roker to their city adding, “Hey Al!! Welcome to Memphis! We love you!” Another one commented, “Happy to see you in my neck of the woods. Enjoy Southern hospitality.”
