'Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness' and its star Joe Exotic have made quite a splash since the true-crime docuseries aired on Netflix. There's been a lot of speculation on the future of 'Tiger King' and some people are busy trying to figure out who should write, direct and star in the feature adaptation of the show.

Well, that came to a head (of hair) when Newshub Entertainment Editor and Film Reviewer Kate Rodger shared a frankly disturbing image of Taika Waititi with a blonde wig and earrings on Twitter, suggesting that the multi-hyphenated filmmaker ought to be the one to bring the story to life on the big screen.

"I think you'll agree it's pretty bloody obvious who should write direct and star in the feature adaptation of @netflix," Rodger tweeted. "#TigerKing Just DO IT @TaikaWaititi #TaikaKing."

Waititi responded to the tweet and while he technically didn't say no, he did say "I feel if you add that hair to anybody they could also write, direct, and star in it."

Of course, a number of fans have since responded to the tweets and the reactions range from excited to mortified. Here are some of the reactions from the fans:

"Taika says 'leave me out of this white nonsense please'," one fan tweeted. Another fan suggested, "Sew a stuffed tiger and make a stop motion feature."

One fan noted, "Taika king has a nice ring to it tho." while another fan commented, "I would like to audition for the role as tiger #43."

"Maybe but you'd have the better soundtrack in most cases," one fan wrote. "Hitler sure, but this is going too far," another fan said, referencing Waititi's role as the Nazi dictator in 'Jojo Rabbit', a movie he scripted, directed, starred in and won an Oscar for.

Another fan responded to Waititi's suggestion that the hair is all it would take to play Joe Exotic writing, "My brain agreed with you, and then tried to break the logic, summoning a *terrifying* image of Danny DeVito and Milos Foreman in the wigs." Now that's something we don't even want to think about.

'Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness' is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
