President Donald Trump's youngest daughter, Tiffany Trump, was slammed on Tuesday, June 2, for participating in a social media protest over George Floyd's death. Tiffany's decision to take part in the protest was denounced by both her father's critics and his supporters, however, for vastly different reasons.

The first daughter, after days of silence amid the ongoing protests across the country, took to Instagram to share her support of #BlackoutTuesday, a blackout initiated by activists to advocate policy change after Floyd's death in police custody.

The 26-year-old also along with a black square also shared a quote by Helen Keller, writing: "'Alone we can achieve so little; together we can achieve so much.' Helen Keller #blackoutTuesday #justiceforgeorgefloyd." However, shortly after she shared her support, many Republicans and Democrats swarmed to her social media account to criticize her.

Tiffany's message came just hours after peaceful protesters in Washington D.C., including priests, were tear-gassed by police officers who were clearing a path for her father so he could pose for photographs holding a Bible in front of St John's Church.

Multiple Black Lives Matters supporters commented on Tiffany's post, asking her to share her thoughts with her father. One person wrote: "Maybe you could try to explain this to your father," one person wrote. While another said: "Please call your dad so he can get the message... he's called for heads to roll in so many situations but has yet called for these cops to face justice."

Many social media users found Tiffany's Instagram post to be hypocritical because of Trump's recent actions. President Trump, over the past few days, referred to the protesters in Minneapolis as "thugs" and even threatened violence against them in a series of controversial and inflammatory tweets, with one stating "when looting starts, shooting starts."

"How do you feel about the tear gas on peaceful protests in front of the Church???" one Instagram user asked. "As a legal scholar, how do you feel about him involving the Insurrection Act of 1807?? I think those words would speak louder than this action..."

Another wrote: "Ha! This is rich. Did you see what your father did to peaceful protesters in DC last night so he could post with a holy book he has clearly never opened?"

Journalist Dave Quinn noted the quote Tiffany had used in her post, and said: "Fitting that you used a Helen Keller quote here, as you and your family continue to be blind and deaf to what's really going on."

Several Trump supporters also commented on her post, essentially dubbing her as a traitor. Many of the conservatives called her a "sheep" and threatened to unfollow her One person wrote: "You drank the koolaid, Tiff." While another said: "Disappointed, You're definitely not your father."

Tiffany's mother Marla Maples and her boyfriend Michael also participated in #BlackOutTuesday with similar posts.

The nationwide protests began as four Minneapolis police officers allegedly involved in Floyd's brutal death were fired on May 26 after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The footage showed Floyd pleading with officers as one of them, Derek Chauvin, knelt on his neck while the 46-year-old told them to let him stand because he could not breathe. The clip showed Floyd pleading with the officer to allow him to breathe and a few minutes later he became unconscious. Floyd's death has sparked massive protests and unrest in Minneapolis and across the country. Chauvin, 44, was arrested last week on charges of third-degree murder and manslaughter, while the rest of the officers have not yet been arrested.
