Tiffany Haddish gets her own original comedy special on Netflix
'Girls Trip' actress Tiffany Haddish will tape the special in early 2019, and it will premiere globally later in the year.
Tiffany Haddish will bring her breakout comedic talent to streaming giant Netflix, in an original hour-long stand-up comedy special. Haddish will tape the special in early 2019, and it will premiere globally later in the year.
Haddish, whose breakthrough performance in last year’s smash hit 'Girls’ Trip' earned her wide acclaim, can currently be seen opposite Tracy Morgan on 'The Last O.G.'
Netflix is certainly thrilled about having the funny woman on board. "Tiffany Haddish is a force," said Lisa Nishimura, VP of Original Documentary and Comedy. "Hilariously funny, brash and self-effacing, she’s an incredible artist who is winning over audiences while breaking barriers, and we are tremendously proud that she will showcase her formidable talent on Netflix." There's been no word on subject Tiffany will focus on, but considering that Netflix has already inked deals with comedians such as Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock and Kevin James, there's a variety of angles each comedian can take.
Haddish is also starring alongside comedian and actor Kevin Hart in 'Night School,' actress Amber Riley in 'Nobody’s Fool' and Katrina Law and Sean Bean in 'The Oath.'
In the trailer for 'Night School' that released recently, Haddish can be seen schooling Hart. The plot revolves around a man named Teddy (Hart) who has to go back to school to get his GED in order to become a financial analyst. Haddish plays his teacher Carrie. Rob Riggle, Taran Killam, and Romany Malco join Hart on-screen for the film that Hart produces for his Hartbeat Productions, and Packer via his Will Packer Productions. 'Night School' will be in theatres on September 12. She will also voice the character Tuca in the upcoming Netflix adult animated series 'Tuca & Bertie.'
