'Rock the Block' Finale: Who won Season 2? Here's a look at the home with the highest appraisal value

Her career began after she lost a bet

Brooks has definitely had a rather interesting start to her career. Prior to discovering her deep passion for interior design, Brooks worked as a manager at a luxury apartment complex in Chicago.

She was suddenly tasked with the job to finish designing the interiors of the model living space with a budget of just $3,000. She did such a phenomenal job that her boss took notice of her work. Her boss even made her submit the model apartment design to the Chicagoland Apartment Associations' CAMME Awards. It was then that they made an interesting bet — if Brooks won, she would quit the job and seriously consider a career in design.

The rest is history — Brooks won and followed through on her end of the deal and opened You and Your Decor, her interior design company. It's safe to say that she's always had a knack for winning contests, especially ones that put her keen design sense and prowess to the test.

Brooks proved yet again that she was a cut above the rest when she entered and won 'HGTV Design Stars' in 2013, a highly competitive design contest. It was this win that earned her a spot among the HGTV home makeover stars!

What is her current net worth?

As reported by Married Biography , Brooks' net worth is estimated to be $1.5 million. As a designer, it's estimated that she makes anywhere between $34k to $73k.

Seeing that she was previously a part of 'Rock the Block' season 2 and how has her own show, it's safe to say that this number is on an upward rise. She has also been a part of other HGTV shows such as 'Brother vs Brother,' 'Brooks and Mortar,' and 'Rock the Block' season 1. Although she has her own show now, don't be surprised to see her continue to be a part of other HGTV shows.

Is Brooks married?

Brooks' love story is a rather sweet one, seeing that she married her high school sweetheart, Dante Brooks. The pair met when they were in high school together, and started dating around that time.

The couple are proud parents to a son, Aidan Brooks, who was born in 2003. According to her Instagram post, she shares a close relationship with her 17-year-old son and goes skateboarding with him in her free time.
