Three 15-year-old boys were arrested and are in custody after they were caught illegally entering the grounds of POTUS Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago club. The teenagers jumped the wall and entered the exclusive club on Palm Beach, all while armed with an AK-47 in a backpack, the police revealed on Wednesday, August 5.

As per a Palm Beach Police Department spokesman, the authorities had seen the teenagers parked in a silver Hyundai in the 300 block of Middle Road on Friday, July 31, WPTV reports. As officers came close to the vehicle, the driver had taken off towards Mar-a-Lago. The three had then jumped the wall and tried to hide on the grounds of the resort as officers surrounded the club.

A helicopter as well as a police dog was used to find the three teens. A police spokesman shared that Mar-a-Lago security had found a backpack on a seawall on the property containing a Mini Draco 7.62 caliber AK-47 with a 14 round magazine. The boys were taken into custody on charges of armed trespassing, armed burglary, and resisting arrest without violence. The police revealed that when the boys were asked as to where they got the AK-47, one of them responded saying he had "found it".

The spokesman added how the teens had no idea that they had entered the Mar-a-Lago property. They had said that they had been trying to evade the police and it was a mere coincidence that they wound up at Mar-a-Lago. Their identities have not been released and the three are currently being held at the Juvenile Assessment Center in West Palm Beach. According to the Miami Herald, prosecutors are deciding whether to charge them as adults. Palm Beach Police Department spokesperson Michael Ogrodnick shared, "They had no idea where they were." Trump and his family were not at the club that has been closed for the summer.

Trump had bought Mar-a-Lago back in 1985 and last year in September he had made the resort his permanent residence. Trump spends a significant amount of time at the property where he frequently plays golf. According to AP, the three teenagers are not the first uninvited guests to trespass the resort and there have reportedly been at least five instances of trespassing ever since Trump became the President in 2017.

Many social media users have slammed the teenagers saying that there was no way that they could not have known that it was Trump's house. One such user commented, "No way with all the secret service and local police hanging out would you not know it was Trumps house, plus everyone knows it’s Trumps house because it has the biggest most beautiful American flag flying."

Another shared, "'Police say it is unlikely the teens knew the wall they jumped was property belonging to the President of The United States.' Right."

"Question is...what were they planning to do with AK-47's. Not a leisurely stroll I'm sure," wrote a Twitter user.
