Taika Waititi is on a roll right now, having won his first-ever Oscar for the anti-fascist fable 'Jojo Rabbit'. Now, the writer-director-actor is all set to focus his attention on the upcoming sequel to his Marvel Cinematic Universe movie 'Thor: Ragnarok'.

According to a new report from Variety, Waititi is going to have someone great working alongside him on the script for the upcoming movie. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who wrote and directed Netflix's 'Someone Great', has reportedly joined the crew for 'Thor: Love and Thunder' as part of the writing team, ahead of its production start date later this year.

'Thor: Love and Thunder' is already expected to be a massive hit for Marvel, especially because of how well the fans have taken to Waititi's work on 'Ragnarok'. Plus, the new movie will also bring back Natalie Portman's Jane Foster as the new female Thor.

At the moment, not much is known about the plot of the upcoming film but Robinson's inclusion in the writers' room suggests that Waititi may be going the rom-com route with the movie. Whether that's a rekindling of the romance between Jane and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), we will have to wait and see.

"The next Thor film I’m doing, basically, we’re sort of launching ourselves again on this adventure film, really. That was the thing really that I loved about doing 'Ragnarok', it felt like we were just putting Thor on a really cool adventure," Waititi previously told Entertainment Weekly. "There’s always like new things to see and do, and this one, I think we’re gonna double down a lot on that and have it bigger, bolder and brighter. There’s just gonna be some really crazy stuff in the film."

'The Dark Knight' star Christian Bale is also rumored to be in talks to join the cast of the movie. Right now, there hasn't been any official confirmation on what role he's being considered for but rumors doing the rounds online say he will play an intergalactic villain, which could be anyone from Gorr the God Butcher (which would be awesome) to Xemnu the First Hulk (which would be hilarious).

'Thor: Love and Thunder' is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 5, 2021.
