Why is 'This Is Us' Season 5 Episode 3 'Changes' not airing this week? Here's what to expect from the NBC show

When will ‘This Is Us’ Episode 3 drop? That's the number one question on all minds after the two-hour premiere ended with a shocking cliffhanger. Now, fans can't help but wait to see what happens and how the Pearsons family adapt to the new changes in their lives — including the Covid-19 outbreak and the Black Lives Matter movement. 

Titled ‘Changes’, the summary of the next episode reads: “Kevin and Madison navigate their engagement as Kate and Toby take a big step in their adoption journey. Jack and Rebecca brace for puberty.” In a new 15-second promo, Toby and Kate meet a new woman who tells them, “Got a strong feeling about you guys.” In another conversation, Toby tells Kate, “We're dealing with a single mother who could change her mind about us.” 

Why is the next episode not airing next week?

Sadly, there's a one-week break for the beloved NBC show. So, in case, you tuned in to the channel to watch the series, get set to be disappointed. As America is bracing for elections with President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden locking horns, the 59th quadrennial presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020. 

What's on NBC in place of ‘This Is Us’?

In the wake of elections, most network channels have postponed the regular TV shows by one week and the same goes for NBC's ‘This Is Us’. Going by the official schedule, NBC has listed ‘NBC Nightly News With Lester Holt’ at 6.30 pm ET followed by ‘NBC News Special: Decision 2020 Election Night 1st Hour’ from 7 pm ET to 8 pm ET. Post that, NBC will air ‘NBC News Special: Decision 2020 Election Night: Prime East’ from 8 pm ET to 10 pm ET.

‘NBC News Special: Decision 2020 Election Night: Prime West’ will air from 11.30 pm ET to 2.00 am ET. It will be followed by ‘NBC News Special: Decision 2020 Election Night: All-Night’ from 2.00 am ET to 4.00 am ET.

What to expect from the next episode?

Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley) and Madison Simons (Caitlin Thompson) took their relationship one step ahead in the season premiere and now the next episode could delve deeper into the pregnancy stage. In the last episode, Kevin called Madison his fiancée and now fans can't stop speculating if their relationship will last forever. One theory also suggests that Madison could die after giving birth to the twins. 

When will the new episode air? 

The episode date has been moved a week further. Many fans couldn't believe the news and demanded the episode air this week itself.

“I can not believe we have to wait two weeks till the next episode...I need to know if Randall’s birth mother is alive!! #ThisIsUs,” one fan tweeted and another said, “So happy @NBCThisisUs is back. Have to wait two weeks for the next episode though. First two episodes were great. Solid start to season five #ThisIsUs.” A third chimed in, “Finally watched #ThisIsUs. I need the next episode now!”

After the two-hour episode of 'This Is Us' premiered on Tuesday, October 27, at 9 pm ET on NBC, catch the one-hour episode ‘Changes’ from 9 pm ET to 10 pm ET on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
