The last episode of 'This Is Us' left viewers on an emotional note. Randall Pearson (Sterling K Brown) revealed how his father Jack's (Milo Ventimiglia) death in the fire still haunts him.

Towards the end of the episode, he was still mulling over the memories and wondering how he could have saved his father. This week's episode is titled 'After The Fire' and it might show a glimpse of how the Pearson family would have been had Jack not died in the fire.

The official synopsis of the episode reads, "Randall reflects on what could have been." In a new promo, Randall talks to his therapist and confesses, "I wonder what my life would have been like if my dad hadn't died." A montage of scenes shows an elderly Jack raising a toast with his family. In another snippet, it also takes back to the time when Randall met his real father.

Fans are excited to see the "what if" episode. "This is about to be the most interesting episode on tv. I wish the “what if” sequence was the big twist and not all these new characters," one wrote and another said, "I've been waiting for this. We need a few episodes one of Jack lived and Rebecca died. His relapse would be good to see.

Many can't wait to see what would unfold in the next episode and have shared their thoughts on Randall's mental stress.

"Listen, I don’t dislike Randall and I don’t think Kevin is exactly right, especially when he throws the money card. But one thing that Kevin has done that no one else in the fam has done is listen to what Rebecca wants. I think he’s grown up the most out of the three and is doing exactly what Rebecca wants from him: to make her feel happy. I think Randall needs his therapy before he can really sink into the Rebecca situation. I do wish that the kids would have the discussion with Rebecca tho, and not instantaneously bicker," one viewer opined.

Another posted, "I'm honestly getting sick of Randall's constant need to micromanage his mother's life. Kevin was right in that she's a grown woman who can decide what she does and doesn't want. Randall needs to realize this soon. He doesn't have to be the only person to take responsibility for her. She has a husband and two other children to lean on not just him!" Another fan said, "Randall never would have met Beth because he actually would have gone to Howard and his life would have been totally different."

The new episode will air on March 17 at 9 pm ET on NBC.
